Procentec PROFITrace 2

PROCENTEC’s latest analysis toolset provides a powerful and flexible system for PROFIBUS DP/PA fault finding for PROFIBUS professionals. The PROFICore Ultra is a USB attached hardware component that allows for one or multiple software modules, depending on which are licensed, to run, each providing a unique diagnostic function.

Features

The PROFICore Ultra, being a USB device, is usually used in conjunction with a laptop in the field or control room or can just as easily be attached to a PC in a suitable location. The device draws all its power through the USB port and therefore does not require an external power supply.

PROFICore Ultra’s software suite options include:

PROFITrace 2, which provides advanced and intuitive packet analysis functions.

PROFICaptain 2, which provides master/PLC functions, ideal for commissioning, product testing and diagnostics.

Scopeware, which provides PROFIBUS-orientated oscilloscope functions, ideal for examining the electrical health of the network.

Topology scan, which allows for the length of the segment cable between devices to be measured while the network is running (only at 500Kb/s and 1.5Mb/s currently)

These individually licensable software modules run within a single application framework, and provide a powerful, user-friendly diagnostic environment. The PROFICore Ultra can also be attached to PROFIBUS PA networks using the optional PA Probe / PA Probe 2 adapters.

PROFITrace2 also provides comprehensive reporting features that make generation of comprehensive network health status reports simple.

Softing busüCheck Series

The BC400/450 busCheck Analysers are Softing’s latest PROFIBUS diagnostic tools that provide extended PROFIBUS traffic analysis diagnostic functions.

The BC400/450, being USB devices, are usually used in conjunction with a laptop in the field or control room or can just as easily be attached to a PC in a suitable location. These analysers are supplied by power from the USB connection and do not required additional external power connections.

he BC400/450 include the following functions:

Protocol analysis for DP/PA networks
Advanced network health state analysis
Direct PA network connection for BC450

All the BC400/450 functions operate through an integrated software interface that provides both a general overview of network health as well as advanced network traffic analysis functions.

Softing PB-T3

The PB-T3, being a USB device, is usually used in conjunction with a laptop in the field or control room or can just as easily be attached to a PC in a suitable location. The device requires additional external power.

The PB-T3 has the following key functions:

Signal voltage measurements
Built-in PROFIBUS waveform oscilloscope
Bus status indication
Detected network fault counters
Network Topology scanner

All the PB-T3 functions operate through an integrated software interface with ease of use and end-users as a priority. The PB-T3 does however, feature advanced functions, such as PROFIBUS message analysis if the user requires them.

The PB-T3 is a flexible tool that addresses the need for simplified PROFIBUS diagnostics information for end-users. It however, also features advanced functions, such as message tracing and oscilloscopes functions that make it suitable for a wide range of diagnostic functions. Due to its requirement for external power means this device is most suitable for installation in the control room. It is a tool ideally suited for end-users in permanent network monitoring solutions.
